The ultimate 4WD – Daintree Creb Track Adventure
Winding its way through the oldest living rainforest in the world the CREB Track takes you on a 4 wheel Drive adventure like no other.
The CREB track was originally intended as a service track by the Cairns Regional Electricity Board for the power line to Cooktown in far North Queensland. After the de-energising of the power line it has since become a well known 4wd track for the experience and well equipped 4WD enthusiasts, linking the Daintree to the Aboriginal Community Wujal Wujal,
If you are looking for an adventurous day tour with true 4 wheel driving through this spectacular, yet sensitive part of the Wet Tropics Heritage area, then this is the tour for you! The Creb Track is for 4WD vehicles only. This challenging 4wd track has areas of great difficulty, that will guide you through the most thrilling adventure of your life.
Setting off from Cairns and heading up the coast to the magnificent Daintree River it is rated one of the best drives in Australia.
After Daintree township we enter the Creb Track which is a very steep, rough but exciting 4WD track. After leaving the grazing land behind at the Daintree river you drive through the lush tropical rainforest as you head north through a breathtaking 4WD route that climbs to the top of the ranges with views of creeks, rivers and spectacular waterfalls. Along the way there will be many opportunities for fresh water swims and to take memorable photos.
Approximately 20km south of the Wujal Wujal Aboriginal community the track passes through a small patch of scrub known as Christies Pocket, an Aboriginal outstation.
The Track branches off from here and heads to China Camp, a tin mining area in the 1890’s and 1900’s. From here you can visit the proclaimed and stunning Roaring Meg Falls, located at the head of Bloomfield River and South of Cooktown, the falls can be heard from a distance, and they are certainly worth the detour.
When we arrive at the falls you’ll be treated to a delicious lunch, then cool off at the magnificent falls near by.
Once we leave the falls we enjoy a short drive to the aboriginal community of Wujal Wujal – a community that has existed on site for hundreds of years.
The adventure is not done yet as we make our way along the scenic Bloomfield track to Cape Tribulation where we take a walk along its beautiful beach and board-walk. From there we will slowly make our way back to Cairns.
This Creb Track Tour is tailored to you on the day, there can be changes to the itinerary if you want to stop, walk, swim or enjoy a moment a bit longer along the way. You’re treated like royalty as this customized tour allows you to experience Far North Queensland up close like never before.
