Embark on a brief 90-minute voyage to reach the outer reef, where our Marine Guides will provide a comprehensive briefing on the day’s activities. Spend up to five hours exploring the wonders of the reef as your captain carefully selects the two best sites nestled within the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Tailored to the day’s conditions, these locations guarantee an awe-inspiring experience amidst an abundance of tropical fish, including the beloved Nemo, pristine coral formations, and majestic sea turtles.

For those with an adventurous spirit, indulge in our introductory scuba diving experience, an opportunity to truly encounter the Great Barrier Reef in all its glory. Specially designed for confident swimmers, this introductory dive allows you to experience the thrill of scuba diving under the direct supervision of our highly trained scuba diving instructors.

Itinerary

7:30 am:

Start your day bright and early with complimentary hotel transfers, followed by check-in at C Finger, Cairns Marina.

8:00 am:

Treat yourself to a delicious breakfast accompanied by refreshing local coffees served onboard. Once energized, we’ll embark on our journey to the Outer Reef. During the voyage, our expert commentary will captivate you with reef information, including dive locations, interactive maps, visuals, and dive site briefings for Scuba Divers. Our resident Marine Biologist will also share insights into the history of the Great Barrier Reef and its Indigenous significance, as well as insider tips on what to observe.

9:30 am:

Upon arriving at Outer Reef Site #1, the real adventure begins! If you’re new to scuba diving, seize the opportunity for an introductory dive with a PADI Instructor, while others can enjoy two guided snorkelling sessions. After drying off, replenish your energy with morning tea served onboard. Then, it’s time to dive back into the water for the second session of the day.

12:30 pm:

Relish a delectable lunch either in the main deck area or take advantage of our various open deck spaces for an alfresco dining experience. For more information about our cuisine, check out our cuisine page. While you savor your meal, the captain will relocate the vessel to our second exclusive dive site.

1:00 pm:

Dive right back into the action as the dive deck opens for the third and final session.

2:30 pm:

As the day winds down, bid farewell to the stunning Reef and begin your return journey to Cairns. Enjoy drinks and a cheese platter while gaining more information about the fish and reef bios, and access the GBRMPA’s ‘Eye on the Reef’ app to contribute your sightings. And, don’t forget to join in for a group photo or two to commemorate your unforgettable day.

4:00 pm:

Arrive back at the Cairns Marina, and we commence complimentary hotel drop-offs as your day comes to a close.

Important Information

The minimum age is 12 years old. All passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent when diving or snorkeling.

Certain medical conditions may prevent you from scuba diving, even as a certified diver. For guests over the age of 65, a dive medical is requested for your own safety and our duty of care.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
